Today's WT Study: "Return to Jehovah" - Lots of Elephants in the Room
by Room 215 intoday's article prods active jws to participate in the effort to reactivate us backsliders.. unfortunately, it fails to prepare the participants to adequately address the real reasons so many have left and want nothing frtherethan to be left alone: the un and child abuse scandals, prophetic failures; dumbed-down, increasingly specious and simplistic verbiage in literature and talks, the cult of personality and unwarranted veneration of those 8 singularly unremarkable members of the gb, etc., etc..

Unity of Sedona is a New Age spiritual center, New Thought church, and energy vortex featuring sacred services, workshops, a labyrinth, psychics...spiritual gatherings, and a metaphysical bookstore....
This spiritual center that purchased WT's Sedona property is all about spiritistic practices that WT & Jehovah's Witnesses in general teach against. As the scripture says: 'The love of money is the root of all sorts of injurious things'. (1Timothy 6:10)
WTs' love of money knows no bounds!
It would be a real hoot if a Kingdom Hall someday soon gets sold & turned into a brothel somewhere in Nevada!🤣

Final talk of the 2020 'Always Rejoice' Convention
by Listener inthis is part of splane's lecture in the final part of the final day of the 2020 convention.
now speaking of broadcasting.
do you think jehovah has been preparing us for something like this pandemic?

And here's another thing, when the theme for this convention was being chosen, there was no Coronovirus on the horizon. Yet, can you think of a better theme for a convention than this one? Joy.
Yet, can you think of a better theme for a convention than this one?
Yah...now that you mention it...the 2018 Convention theme would of been way more appropriate...'Be Courageous' or the 2017 Convention theme...'Don't Give Up'!
Me thinks that either God or WT or someone was a bit off on their timing!

Watchtower Study 23rd August
by BluesBrother inthe subject is searching for lost sheep.
how do the congregation view the inactive ones who no longer associate?
not with disdain, we are told but as lost sheep “still our brothers “ it is said that god loves them and they too must do what they can to help them.. why have we strayed ?

One thing's for certain...WT should have put a smile on the woman in the bus...that would have given the impression she had pleasant old memories of being in this religion. Instead they put what appears more to be a frown/scowl-look as though she has a loathing for this cult which is why she faded & became inactive in the first place!

A JW who has left is either weak or wicked; it's never that he left because he's strong and smart and has researched and spent a lot of time analyzing and really wants truth.
Spot-on Magnum!

Tonight's Meeting
by Studyover induring tonight's meeting the brother seemed to read out something along the lines of "you may be helping a poor sister who you think may be struggling, but in turn that sister may be getting financial assistance from the government.
it is always best to stick to jehovah's arrangement in these matters so that help can get to those who most need it, including the worldwide work".
i think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned.

...The speaker started out by saying when the elder body were trying to determine who best could handle the part...it turned out that nobody knew what 'Messaging Apps' were.🤣 The speaker admitted he first had to Google the topic to know where to begin. So 45+, 50, 60 & up year old elders are for the most part in the dark regarding this internet trend among the younger JWs. So the concern is really the teenagers, 20 & 30 year olds who are the ones being educated online about this cult & its sorry-ass past by means of these messaging apps!

!'Dw: is it correct that it said, everyone that starts a theme, campaign or a site will be held responsible for any adverse outcome?
Yes, watson...the speaker I heard summed-up his part at the end by emphatically saying 'as with anything else...you start something online...you're responsible for it's outcome'!

I think it may have been an article about social media platforms initially and how they should be avoided and then this was mentioned. Did anyone else hear it...did I hear correctly?
Yes you heard correctly...as others have said...WT is having another conniption fit about rank & files' use of social media & the internet in general. This is the second time of recent that WT is using 'Local Needs' to address this. Basically 'Mother' is in damage control...no doubt many...especially JW youth, are getting a real education about this cult on-line!
I would imagine there are a good many JW households where parents & their teen-age children are butting heads over this cult's dark history, teachings, doctrines & especially their mishandling of child sex abuse cases that these young JWs are learning about online.
It's not a stretch of the imagination to say that while many JW youth are getting baptized very young...as savvy as kids are at using computers today...tons of these very same young JWs will learn very early on the mistake they made of joining this cult. If you thought this organization breaks-up families...you ain't seen nothing yet!
More and more JW parents are being forced to decide between their young children and this cult!

Bourneldentity: Is this something they will be emailing everyone or is this just an example of a form they handed out a long time ago when everyone would meet at the Hall?
I remember a form very similar to the above link a couple years back. In our circuit...the family heads were expected to stick to their pledge. Once a month the COBE when accounts reports were read (with direction from headquarters) would get on his bully pulpit and say something to the effect...'Remember what y'all family heads pledged to give...let your yes mean yes'... type of badgering!
I, for one, am expecting a very strong arm ( 💪 ) approach again...some fashion directed to rank & file members to guilt them into giving $$$.
